my doula support
Supporting your pregnancy journey with compassion
Meet Lisa
I am a Doula UK recognised doula with a passion for providing personalised support during pregnancy and childbirth. With over 18 years of experience, I have supported the birthing experiences of numerous families. My compassionate approach and extensive training ensure that every family’s unique needs are met with understanding and care. My mission is to empower families with knowledge and emotional support, enabling them to navigate the beautiful journey of welcoming a new baby into their lives.
My philosophy is that whether you have had a birth experience already or not, birth can be something you can look forward to, with confidence. You can feel prepared for birth by choosing to gain knowledge beforehand. You can feel relaxed, calm and in control during birth by creating a supportive team around you. And finally you can be well cared for after birth so that you start parenthood feeling confident that you can meet all your new baby’s needs.
Whether you are looking for a birth doula, a postnatal doula or both, finding a woman with whom you can relate, with whom you feel some sort of connection and whom you like is really important. That is why I make myself available in person, or by phone/email, so you can find out more about me and if I am the right doula for you.

My work with the Maternity Team at NHS England:
I have recently completed some national work for the Maternity Team at NHS England. This involved ensuring national maternity policies are created with and for women and their partners and ensuring women and their partners can give feedback about their experiences of maternity services via a local Maternity & Neonatal Voicxes Partnership (MNVP). I also developed the 15 Steps for Maternity toolkit here: https://www.england.nhs.uk/publication/the-fifteen-steps-for-maternity-quality-from-the-perspective-of-people-who-use-maternity-services/. This is a reference from the Maternity Team at NHS England:
Lisa demonstrates a deep commitment to improving outcomes for maternity and neonatal service users and families. Lisa championed service user voice at a national level and played a pivotal role in embedding service user voice across the Maternity and Neonatal Team to ensure that lived experience meaningfully informs policy development and decision-making. This included building a team of national Service User Voice representatives and building effective networks with regional teams and voluntary and community sector organisations. Lisa is hard working and brings a committed and compassionate attitude, demonstrating a deep sense of empathy and understanding in all of her work. Lisa is open to feedback, eager to learn, and continuously striving to improve. Lisa communicates clearly and with warmth and has been a very valued team member within the Maternity and Neonatal Programme at NHS England.
